Last Wednesday I had a few of my mommy friends over and I hosted a Pampers Easy Ups Party. I always love having other mom's around so we can all share our crazy experiences. One hot topic we find ourselves talking about lately is potty training. I think all mom's potty train differently. Some mom's are persistent. Some take their time. Regardless what you do there is no wrong way to do it. Potty Training is challenging and once this milestone is achieved I hope you take the time to celebrate such a huge achievement. I have plenty of posts sharing my tips and tricks on how I potty trained Evan, but three thing we all agreed on were:

• Be Patient!
• Practice!
• HAVE FUN!

Our little party was so much fun. The kiddos enjoyed the food, company and their goody bags. By the end of the party we had tissue paper all over the floor. All the mommies read the tips given by Dr. Laura Jana, a pediatrician, award-winning parenting book author and potty training expert. I learned a lot from her tips so I knew my mommy friends would enjoy them as well.

I think throwing this party really helped the kids get excited to start potty training and encouraged the ones that are still leaning. If you are potty training or soon to be, I highly recommend you throw a little get together with you mommy friends and help each other out. Share tips, experiences and enjoy the company. I thought I would confess how I prepare my morning coffee on this fine rainy Monday in Dallas. We had a great weekend and Monday's are a lazy day for myself. All I want to do is lay in bed all day and sip my hot coffee. When I wake up the first thing I want is coffee. I have to have coffee. Yeah it helps me wake up and get my day started, but I also just enjoy drinking coffee. I can drink it at any time of the day. That is why I love Thermos products. I don't have to keep heating up my coffee. I can just store it in my Thermos and maintain it hot for 24 hours.☕️

Coffee is healthy for you but when you start adding so much sugar it takes over and just ruins your coffee. A few months ago I completely changed the way I prepare my coffee. I confess that I ditched white sugar and sweet coffee creamers. I opted for something healthier. I discovered coconut sugar. There I said it, coconut sugar. It's sweet, healthy and delicious. How did I not know about coconut sugar? Instead of coffee creamers I use unsweetened coconut milk. Some days I even add a little bit of coconut oil and it really gives my coffee the final delicious touch. That's it! It's simple and healthy!

You guys know how obsessed with coffee I am. One thing that I love to do with my little guy is bake. Helping my mom and grandma in the kitchen when I was little was always so much fun. I want to continue making as many memorable memories as I can with my son in the kitchen. Baking is basically a weekend tradition. So, Dia De los Niños (Kid's Day) is celebrated in our household weekly.We plan out what we are going to make during the week and bake it on the weekend. We took a trip to Walmart to pick up all of the ingredients we needed, including the family size Lucky Charms (Evan's favorite cereal ever). This recipe is so easy and so much fun. Give this sweet and delicious recipe a try and enjoy every bite!

INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons butter, divided
2 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
3 cups Lucky Charms cereal
6 ounces white chocolate
*double ingredients if you want a full batch. This batch makes about 9 squared treats. 

DIRECTIONS: 
1. Fill up one cup of Lucky Charms marshmallows before you begin this recipe. 
2. In a large pot melt butter over low heat. Stir in marshmallows until completely melted. Remove from heat.
3. Use a buttered spatula to stir in Lucky Charms cereal until fully coated.
4. Press cereal mixture into a greased pan and then sprinkle Lucky Charms marshmallows over your mixture. Let Cool.
5. Cut into squares and remove from pan.
6. Over a double boiler melt white chocolate; remove from heat.
7. Dip bottom of cereal treat into the melted chocolate; place on a wax paper covered baking sheet.
8. Allow chocolate to cool and enjoy! 😋

I know how crazy and frustrating being a mom to a newborn can be. Those newborns can really kick your butt! I always hated getting advice from other moms when I was expecting. In my head I had it perfectly planned out, but boy was I WRONG!😂 Every mom has a different experience, but sometimes learning about other mom's experiences can be helpful in the long run. 1 Accept the help: I was so lucky to have my family by my side to help me with my newborn. Being a mom was new to me and having my parents help me was truly a blessing. I am so thankful that I accepted my parents help. Even though I still looked and felt crazy having my family around made motherhood a little easier. If someone offers their help say yes. A little help goes a long way.

So why on earth didn't I google this? Evan developed a nasty rash from my honest mistake. I finally realized it was the laundry detergent I was using. I quickly switched over to Dreft. 4 Keep Calm: This one is easier said than done. I remember those late nights that Evan would wake up hysterically crying. Edgar and I would take turns trying to soothe him, but we would just end up freaking out and arguing. It got ugly at times and even hurt our relationship. I wish we would have taken a deep breath and just stayed calm. You will find a quicker way to soothe your baby if you just stay calm.

5 Enjoy Every Moment: Enjoy the good, the bad and the ugly because they grow so fast. Personally, I feel like I didn't enjoy newborn Evan as much as I should have. This is so bad but I would always say, "I can't wait until he's older." Every year seeing him grow into such a beautiful human being is definitely a bitter sweet feeling. I wish I would have taken more pictures, more videos and just enjoyed my baby a whole lot more. Live in the moment and enjoy your newborn mamas!
