POTTY TRAINING TIPS + GIVEAWAY
I know how rough potty training can be. One thing that I learned is that it doesn't have to be. Yes, potty training doesn't have to be a nightmare. Before Evan was potty trained I would get so frustrated because he wouldn't tell me when he had to go potty, or when he would refuse to use the toilet. I came to a realization that Evan was just not ready at that time. I waited patiently for Evan to show signs letting me know he was ready. This is something that Dr. Laura Jana advises parents to do. Dr. Laura Jana is a pediatrician, award-winning parenting book author and potty training expert. I learned a lot from her tips, which you can find HERE. Evan is now three and has been potty trained for almost a year now. I definitely had my moments but I always remembered these three tips.
BE PATIENT! Don't rush potty training. I felt like I needed Evan to be potty trained by one! HA! I laugh at myself for even thinking that was going to happen. My mother in law was constantly commenting how her son (Evan's dad) was potty trained by one. I think that put so much more pressure on me, but I realized every kid is different. Every kid will be potty trained when they are ready. All we have to do as parents is promote potty training, encourage and teach them how fun and exciting this next step in their childhood can be. Stay patient and potty training will be a piece of cake.
PRACTICE! When Evan had accidents (which he still does from time to time) I would get sooo frustrated. We went from diapers to undies right away, but after one too many accidents I decided I would use Pampers Pull Ups. Training pants support the diaper-to-underwear transition for toddlers and their families as they have a more underwear-like look and feel while still helping to keep messes off clothing, bedding and other surfaces no matter where accidents happen: at home, on-the-go or overnight. With Pull Ups he was able to practice going to the bathroom like he would in undies, but if he had an accident I wouldn't freak out. The more Evan would practice the more he remembered to let us know he had to potty, and eventually we were able to transition to undies.
HAVE FUN and ENJOY this phase! Sometimes parents just need to take a deep breath, leave all frustration aside and enjoy the moment. Make Potty Training a fun experience. I remember Evan loved when we would celebrate his accomplishments. Evan also loved his Pampers Pull Ups because of the fun characters. Potty Training was challenging but we really enjoyed it. We have funny and embarrassing stories to tell Evan when he's older. Even though Evan is now in undies I always have Pampers Pull Ups on hand.

My little Evan is getting bigger and bigger each day. I still remember purchasing Evan's first pair of Freshly Picked Moccasins. We received Evan's first pair of Hard Soles two weeks ago. I measured Evan's foot and went by their size chart. A size 9 would have been okay for Evan, but I knew he would outgrow it soon so just went with the size 10. Without socks they fit him a little big but once we put socks on they fit him just fine. Evan has walked and ran in these shoes for two weeks, and all I can say is he needs another color asap.😂 So far we LOVE them!❤️ When I received them I immediately slipped them on. Even though they have elastic laces we did have a hard time slipping them on, but as he wore them in it became easier. Also they come with a slip on to make putting on shoe easier. The Hard Soles are leather upper and leather lined. The quality is so unique just like their soft soles. COFFEE WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS
Coffee after a delicious meal or even a coffee date are things that my family and friends do regularly. El Día del Niño (Day of The Child) is soon approaching. Each year on April 30th Latinos have a celebration for the children who fill our lives with love and joy. This day is so special for our children even for us as parents. We all get to channel our inner young soul. I have so many special memories as a child that I want to celebrate and integrate this tradition with Evan. I can continue making magical memories with him. El Día del Niño is a huge celebration, like many others, it involves lots of food, desserts and fun activities for the children.
This year I want to do something fun and involve Evan in the kitchen to celebrate. This Día del Niño we plan to cook something easy and traditional. I find myself using HERDEZ products weekly. QUESADILLA INGREDIENTS:
-2 Flour Tortillas
-1/4 cup Mozerella Cheese
-1 Chicken Breast (cooked)
AVOCADO DIP INGREDIENTS:
-1 HERDEZ Salsa Verde 16oz
-1 Avocado
-1/4 cup Plain Yogurt or Greek Yogurt
Quesadilla Directions:
1. Heat up a skillet over medium high heat. 2. Place tortilla on skillet allow it to cook for about 30 seconds and then flip it over. 3. Add cheese and cooked/shredded chicken. When cheese is slightly melted fold the tortilla in half. Let it continue cooking until chicken is warmed through and cheese is melted. 5. Cut into triangles and serve with Salsa Verde Avocado Dip.
Salsa Verde Avocado Dip Directions:
1. Add peeled avocado, 1/2 cup HERDEZ Salsa Verde and 1/4 cup Yogurt to food processor. 2. Once it's nice and blended through, just serve. That's it! Dip your Quesadilla into your Salsa Verde Avocado and enjoy.

Welcome April! These months I find myself purchasing more beauty products. Which means if I fall in love with something I am for sure sharing. I gathered a few favorites from last month that I was completely obsessed with. If you are interested, then just keep scrolling!
Lorac 'PRO MATTE' Lip Color in Pink Taupe: This shade is the best for everyday wear. I purchased this mid March and have been using it every single day!😚
Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil: Did any of you purchase this from Ulta during 21 Days of Beauty? I scored this brow pencil for $12. Awesome deal, huh? I purchased it in the color Medium Brown. I went a shade lighter (I have dark brown as well) and my eyebrows look so natural compared to when I use dark brown.
Too Faced Born This Way: I have this in the shade Golden, but I think Honey would be a perfect match for my skin. Nevertheless, I love how flawless my skin looks with it. It has great coverage and works great with my oily skin.
It Cosmetics Brush Bath: Such an easy and effective way to clean your brushes. Before I would wash them with dawn dish soap, but that was such a hassle. I took so much time cleaning my brushes when all I really needed was this brush cleanser. I spray it directly to my brush before I use it and it literally removes all makeup and impurities from my brushes. This stuff is legit.👌
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion: I purchased this a few months ago and hated it because it was over drying my skin. Only because I was using too many acne products at once. Since I changed my skin care routine I now use this before I apply my makeup. I love that my makeup stays matte throughout most of the day. I am not as oily as I normally am. Love this!
Scentbird: I have a whole review on Scentbird HERE. I am currently wearing Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent. I love that I can carry my Scentbird spray anywhere I go. It basically stays in my purse. For only $14.95 you get a 30 day supply of any designer fragrance of your choice.
Sunglasses: I love simple and affordable sunnies because I literally can't take care of them. They break or mysteriously disappear (meaning Evan hides them😂) therefore I spend no more than $20 on them. These are so cute and only $10.😱
Morphe Brushes: What the heck? These brushes are SO affordable and apply your makeup so freaking awesome. I picked up a few and found myself using M177, M178 and M180 the most this month.
Juice Beauty Blemish Cleanser: I don't think I will ever use another cleanser. This stuff is amazing! My skin is finally looking nice and smooth! You guys have no idea how awful I have felt because of acne. This cleanser works wonders on your skin. If you suffer from acne run and purchase this! You will thank me later.👍

I have so many things on my wish list, but it's impossible buying everything all at once. I have to buy one or two things at a time. I promised to reward myself a pair of shoes every ten pounds that I lose. Meaning that if you guys see me with all of these in the near future you will know I have accomplished my goal.😂 I kid you not this is really keeping me motivated, and I just need more shoes. After I had Evan I got rid of most of my heels, only keeping a few, and my shoe selection is so small compared to what I am used to. I need to lose five more pounds and I can purchase one of these beauties. I am definitely going for Tarita by Vince Camuto as my first purchase!😍

I asked Evan to pick out a few of his favorite toys to share this Tuesday. He started grabbing every single toy and pileing them up. We had to narrow it down to the few that he's been plays with the most recently. He lined all of his super heroes in a row and we snapped a few pictures. He is at an age where his imagination is running wild. He loves to dress up as many super heroes, and when he plays with his action figures he makes different voices for each one. It is SO CUTE!🙂 When we buy him toys he will play with them for a few days and then completely forgets about them. These are the few that he will always go back to.
We have other toys that are educational and he loves them too, but these are his all time go to boy toys. When his cousin Diego comes over it's so much fun watching these two play together. It's just awesome to see their little imaginations grow. Evan's favorite thing to say when playing is, "The good guys win and the bad guys lose."😂
