TUESDAY TODDLER STYLE: EASTER 2016
3/29/16
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. First thing we did was dye eggs in the morning. Evan enjoyed it so much he didn't want to give up the eggs.😂 We had a small and nice get together. The kiddos had a blast. My sister had a few games and piñata that had Evan overly excited. Considering lent was over I had the freedom to eat as much sugar as I wanted. Surprisingly, I had absolutely no interest in eating anything sweet. I tried a piece a cake for the heck of it and I literally felt sick afterwards. So I have decided to stick with what I have been eating sugar free. Evan on the other hand ate way too much candy. As the other kids were decorating their cookie Evan was too busy stuffing his little face with frosting.😆 After our get together we went to Big Lots. So random, I know but we walked around and picked up a few things. We also had Pizza for dinner.😂 Before we went to bed Evan said, "That was so much fun mama."
I was looking back at last years Easter post (HERE) and Evan has grown so much.
Easter 2016 was definitely a good one!

I finally put Evan's basket together yesterday. When I laid everything out I realized the majority was candy. I really didn't want to do that this year (like every year), but I let Evan pick everything out. Of course he was going to go straight for the candy. I am for sure adding a toothbrush to his basket.😂 We made a trip to Target and found all these goodies there. Evan was throwing everything in our cart and I made him choose his favorite items. We had a few more but he ate them already.😆 Everything was basically $1.😂 I will be adding a bunny plate and bunny spoon but other than that this is the finished product. I think my favorite is the basket. I am going to use it every year and just purchase a basket liner from Pottery Barn. I am going to take advantage of their huge sale right now on all Easter items. Evan is so happy with his basket and he keeps asking for it every five minutes. I love the way it turned out, simple but cute!
We will be dying eggs, making cupcakes and reading this book to Evan on Sunday. As well as spending time with family and an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter! Happy Easter Weekend!

TUESDAY TODDLER STYLE: EASTER FAVORITES
3/22/16
I finally purchased everything to make Evan's Easter basket yesterday. I let him pick out a few thing for his basket and he went a little crazy!😂 Target has way too many cute things. I really thought they would be sold out of a few things I had my eye on but everything was still available. Their dollar section on the other hand was a little empty but I don't blame them. I am sure it's the first place everyone runs to.😂 For any holiday I love buying Evan either a plate or a cup. I found this adorable plate and set of utensils from Amazon. I can't get over how cute they are. The carrot tee is probably my favorite and Easter isn't complete without peeps, right? We are pretty much set for Easter. Happy Tuesday!

I have had this blog post in my drafts for the longest. I thought I would do something a little different and fun on here. I originally found this tag on YouTube, but I thought it would be fun to do as a blog post. Plus, you get to know a little bit more about me. I tag all of you Latina Bloggers to join in on the fun and leave your post down below! XO😚
Do you speak Spanish? Yes! I speak fluent Spanish and actually just started blogging in Spanish check out Nessa's World en Español (still under construction).
What’s your favorite dish from where your from? EVERYTHING! From my Mexican side I have to say Tacos. From my Salvadorian side I have to say Pupusas or Tamales de Pollo .... I mean the list can go on and on!😋
When was the last time you visited? The last time I visited El Salvador was in the 90's I was about eight years old, and the last time I visited Mexico was about nine years ago.
If you’ve ever visited your country what is your favorite place to visit? In Mexico I loved going to Ocampo, Guanajuato and San Juan de Los Lagos. In El Salvador I loved going to the beach, Playa El Cuco, San Miguel, El Salvador.
Have you ever visited the capitol of your country? Yes, I have visited Mexico City and San Salvador but I was very young. I hope to visit in the future.
What is your favorite dessert from your culture? From my Mexican side I love gelatina de leche, Milk Jello. I've had it here but it's no where near as good as it is in Mexico. From my Salvadorian side I'm going to go with Charamuscas: A frozen, milk-based dessert with a flavoring. I also love their Pan Dulce it's a little different than Mexican Pan Dulce.
What town is your family from and what do love most about it? My mom is from a small town, Ocampo, Guanajuto. I love everything about that small town! I think my most memorable memories there were going to the plaza every night, the taco stands, and every Wednesday they had "Los Miercoles", which was like a mini flea market on the streets, and I loved drinking my morning fresh squeezed orange juice from the mercado. Honestly, my list is huge because my vacations there were epic. My dad is from a small town as well, Santa Elena, Usulutan. I was so young but I do remember sitting outside a lot. I loved listening to the neighbor's parrot and walking to the corner store to buy junk food. I also loved going on road trips to the beach. We would always fly to El Salvador, but one year we took a road trip to El Salvador as a family and it took us ONE week to get there!
What haven’t you visited in your country that you want to visit? There are still so many places that I want to visit in Mexico but my number one would be Xcaret, a Maya civilization archaeological site located on the Caribbean coastline of the Yucatán Peninsula. In El Salvador I would love to visit El Boquerón National Park, located on top of the San Salvador Volcano.

On Monday we took a trip to the park. It was 89 degrees Fahrenheit and the weather has been that way all week. We are trying to do as many activities that Evan will enjoy and that don't cost much or are free, because we are trying to save for Edgar's vacation. It is at the end of the month and we really want to enjoy it because he is going to be one busy bee at work the rest of Spring and Summer. I going to have to put my spending on hold for another two weeks. 😂
I haven't done much at all. I have been staying home and getting things done around the house. I had so much laundry and organization to do. I have been doing some thrift store shopping to fully furnish my living room. We received our new couches last Friday and I wasn't a fan of the color😐 but I am getting used to it. I have to change my curtains and tweak a few thing in the living room, but for now they will work. I wanted gray couches so badly but they look brown! 😭 Couches here, give me your thoughts on what other colors you think will work as far as decor.
I am trying to play catch up on my blog posts because I lend my laptop to my dad and I finally got it back today. I am skipping Tuesday Toddler Style until this upcoming Tuesday. Also this time change is really messing with my daily schedule. Anyone else feel the same way? I have been waking up and going to bed late. The day goes by so fast and Evan has been napping, which he normally doesn't. I guess I shouldn't complain but I am hopeful that we will get back on schedule soon. Hope you're week is going well.

RECENT PURCHASES
3/11/16
Happy Friday! Lately I have been buying a few things here and there. I have been buying more beauty products, clothes and shoes. My closet was looking so empty and shopping makes me feel so happy. 😂 I am sharing a few of the items I have purchased in the past two weeks. The two home decor items are from Burkes. I couldn't find them online, but if you have a Burkes near you stop by and take a look. I have been working out, eating so healthy (for the most part) and taking care of my skin. I am taking care of myself and I am at a point where I feel really good. You can say I am rewarding myself by purchasing a few things every now and then. That's okay, right? 😁 I think my favorite item is the h&m cardigan that took me forever to get my hand on. I hate that it's sold out, but I also love this one. The Keep shopping app is not helping me at all. It makes me want to go on a major shopping spree! Enough of my retail therapy, hope you have a great weekend!

We have been at our new place for a little over four months and I have been slowly decorating here and there because I know how expensive home decor can get. This past weekend we purchased new couches and a few home decor items. We ordered our couches and I hope they are the color I am expecting. I have been so obsessed with Home Good (as always) and Burks, which I just discovered. Their home decor is so affordable and definitely my style. Aside from refurnishing and decorating my living room I also want to focus on Evan's play area. His toys are getting out of control and it's pretty much driving me insane. He has so many hot wheels, play-doh, crayons and legos. He has his room, a little storage room we have under the stairs and a separate play area full of his stuff. It's time we get good storage and make all of these areas look nice and organized. I want to do something modern but also focus on storage Evan will like. I've been eyeing a few items and of course I am sharing. Hope you are having a great week!

HOW TO MAKE DINOSAUR GUMMY CANDY
3/7/16
I try to do as many fun activities with Evan to keep him entertained. I plan to share more of them on here because I know how challenging it can be keeping a toddler busy when you run out of ideas. Evan saw a video on YouTube a while back on how to make Lego gummy candy, but we had a hard time finding a Lego mold in store. We did order one online but we won't get it until this week. However, we did find a really cool Dinosaur mold at Walmart. Evan is fascinated by Dinosaurs so I thought he would really enjoy making Dino gummies. We followed this recipe, but I will be sharing it here as well. I love that these gummies aren't as sweet as store bought gummy bears which is a huge win for all moms, right? I didn't taste them but Evan and his dad said they were delicious. He was so happy, entertained and enjoyed every bit of his home made Dino gummy candy. 😊
Ingredients:
-1/2 a cup of very cold water
-1 box of your choice of Jell-O
-1/4 a cup of corn syrup
-2 packets of unflavored gelatin
Directions:
Add corn syrup into cold water and mix until dissolved. Add your liquid mixture to a pot but don't turn on the heat just just. Then add your choice of Jell-O and Gelatin into your liquid. Stir everything until dissolved and let sit for 5 minutes.
Two things that will help your gummy candy come out clear and bubble free: Use cold water and remember to let mixture sit for 5 minutes to avoid clumps of undissolved gelatin.
After 5 minutes turn on your stove to medium-low heat for 5-10 minutes until your mixture is completely liquefied. Make sure to stir your mixture every minute or two to avoid your mixture from burning. We used a condiment container to pour the mixture into our mold and avoid a huge mess. It was also easier for Evan to pour it in since he wanted to do all of the work. Let your gummies sit for 5-6 hours. Just let them sit on your kitchen counter no need to put them in the fridge. That's it! Easy, right?
I think the hardest part was waiting for the gummies to be ready. Evan was so impatient and wanted to eat them right away. About two hours later we had to give one to Evan because he was not going to wait the full five hours. The weren't quit ready but Evan loved them! This was so much fun and I no longer have to buy gummy bears. I can just make them at home.
Have you ever tried making gummies? If so, was it this recipe? I hope you give these gummy candies a try. I know you and your kiddos will love this!😉

Happy first day of March! So crazy, huh? My emotions will be crazy this month because it will be a year since my mom passed away. I still can't believe it. It really does feel like yesterday that she was still here. I want to set a few goals for myself this month to help me stay busy and positive. Thank God I have my wild, silly and smart little guy. It's also time to get back to my healthy eating. I literally had a breakdown this weekend, no sugar, but defiantly not as healthy as I had been eating. March is the month to get back on track.
We haven't done much during the week, but go outside from time to time and enjoy this beautiful weather. I love this time of year when the season is slowly transitioning, but it's still a little chilly just perfect for long sleeves and warm pants. It's the season for basics. To be completely honest Evan and I are always in basics.😂 Evan's style is best described as comfortable and basic. He's not a fan of jeans and lives and sleeps in trousers/sweatpants/joggers (or whatever you want to call them). I am looking forward to Easter so this little guy can dress up! My mother in law shared a brand that I am currently obsessed with. The brand is Tea Collection and it's sold at Nordstrom. I had no idea but I love their basics. Check it out here.
I am working out a few things in hope to start giveaways every other Tuesday for your little's. Thanks for stopping by! 😗
