Do you speak Spanish? Yes! I speak fluent Spanish and actually just started blogging in Spanish check out Nessa's World en Español (still under construction).
What’s your favorite dish from where your from? EVERYTHING! From my Mexican side I have to say Tacos. From my Salvadorian side I have to say Pupusas or Tamales de Pollo .... I mean the list can go on and on!😋
When was the last time you visited? The last time I visited El Salvador was in the 90's I was about eight years old, and the last time I visited Mexico was about nine years ago.
If you’ve ever visited your country what is your favorite place to visit? In Mexico I loved going to Ocampo, Guanajuato and San Juan de Los Lagos. In El Salvador I loved going to the beach, Playa El Cuco, San Miguel, El Salvador.
Have you ever visited the capitol of your country? Yes, I have visited Mexico City and San Salvador but I was very young. I hope to visit in the future.
What is your favorite dessert from your culture? From my Mexican side I love gelatina de leche, Milk Jello. I've had it here but it's no where near as good as it is in Mexico. From my Salvadorian side I'm going to go with Charamuscas: A frozen, milk-based dessert with a flavoring. I also love their Pan Dulce it's a little different than Mexican Pan Dulce.
What town is your family from and what do love most about it? My mom is from a small town, Ocampo, Guanajuto. I love everything about that small town! I think my most memorable memories there were going to the plaza every night, the taco stands, and every Wednesday they had "Los Miercoles", which was like a mini flea market on the streets, and I loved drinking my morning fresh squeezed orange juice from the mercado. Honestly, my list is huge because my vacations there were epic. My dad is from a small town as well, Santa Elena, Usulutan. I was so young but I do remember sitting outside a lot. I loved listening to the neighbor's parrot and walking to the corner store to buy junk food. I also loved going on road trips to the beach. We would always fly to El Salvador, but one year we took a road trip to El Salvador as a family and it took us ONE week to get there!
What haven’t you visited in your country that you want to visit? There are still so many places that I want to visit in Mexico but my number one would be Xcaret, a Maya civilization archaeological site located on the Caribbean coastline of the Yucatán Peninsula. In El Salvador I would love to visit El Boquerón National Park, located on top of the San Salvador Volcano.
We all love tacos, it's genetic!
