I know how crazy and frustrating being a mom to a newborn can be. Those newborns can really kick your butt! I always hated getting advice from other moms when I was expecting. In my head I had it perfectly planned out, but boy was I WRONG!😂 Every mom has a different experience, but sometimes learning about other mom's experiences can be helpful in the long run. With Mother's Day around the corner I decided to partner up with Dreft and share my personal advice, and their partnership with Sean and Catherine Lowe from The Bachelor. This is my advice for newborn mamas. Share yours down below! Happy Mother's Day!!

1 Accept the help: I was so lucky to have my family by my side to help me with my newborn. Being a mom was new to me and having my parents help me was truly a blessing. I am so thankful that I accepted my parents help. Even though I still looked and felt crazy having my family around made motherhood a little easier. If someone offers their help say yes. A little help goes a long way.

2 Research What Products Are Best For Your Baby: Why did no one tell me I had to wash my newborn's clothes with a gentle laundry detergent? I literally was clueless and would google everything. So why on earth didn't I google this? Evan developed a nasty rash from my honest mistake. I finally realized it was the laundry detergent I was using. I quickly switched over to Dreft. I learned my lesson you guys. I was am now the crazy mom that researches every single product before I try it out on my kid.

Dreft has 3 products: Dreft Stage 1: Newborn; Dreft Stage 2: Active Baby and Dreft Blissfuls. Dreft Stage 2: Active Baby Detergent is specially designed with your developing baby in mind. That's why it helps remove 99% of baby food stains and all of the messes baby finds while crawling in grass and dirt. Let Dreft Active Baby care for the messes, so mom's can spend more time enjoying the precious moments of babyhood.

3 Noise is Okay: I was so paranoid about having the TV being too loud, or people talking too loud and even my phone going off would make me panic when Evan was napping. I learned that being around noise was okay. All that did was make Evan a light sleeper. Luckily, we slowly broke that habit. We now sleep with the radio on and he loves it.

4 Keep Calm: This one is easier said than done. I remember those late nights that Evan would wake up hysterically crying. Edgar and I would take turns trying to soothe him, but we would just end up freaking out and arguing. It got ugly at times and even hurt our relationship. I wish we would have taken a deep breath and just stayed calm. You will find a quicker way to soothe your baby if you just stay calm.

5 Enjoy Every Moment: Enjoy the good, the bad and the ugly because they grow so fast. Personally, I feel like I didn't enjoy newborn Evan as much as I should have. This is so bad but I would always say, "I can't wait until he's older." Every year seeing him grow into such a beautiful human being is definitely a bitter sweet feeling. I wish I would have taken more pictures, more videos and just enjoyed my baby a whole lot more. Live in the moment and enjoy your newborn mamas!
Sean and Catherine Lowe's parenting journey and partnership with Dreft commenced at their Dreft "Loads of Love" baby shower (on April 27th) - where the couple was showered with all the love, support and essentials needed to prepare them for the arrival of their precious new baby. I am giving away a Dreft "Baby Shower" Package to one lucky newborn mama. Parenthood and babyhood is messy. But those messy and imperfect moments are often the most memorable and thanks to Dreft, parents can embrace the mess of #amazinghood.
